Mom talked to Aunt Shir today and they were doing a bunch of tests on Wy all day today, so they wont know more until later tonight she said. I found a quote a while back after all of this happened and it reminds me a lot Wy and what all he will be going through.

Update on Wy
Here is the most recent update on Wy's site, his sissy Steph posted it this morning. "As I stated in an update earlier Wyatt has made it to Denver safely. From what I have been told the ride didn't go as good as it should have, there were problems with the plane and they had to put him on a smaller one. To get Wyatt into the plane they had to turn him sideways (like a couch) to get him into the plane. Wyatt was very upset all day yesterday and the anger is setting in, he is sharing a room with two other people right now because he is still receiving help from the machine to breath. He is also having a hard time sleeping, even though they gave him medication to relax and sleep, he is so worked up he hasn't slept much. The medical staff will be doing a full body exam today along with every x-ray, CT scan and MRI you can think of. Wyatt is a C4 Quadriplegic , and the medical staff will be teaching him to have the quality life as one."

A Win for Wyatt

At times, the colors in Shroyer Gym on Saturday were overwhelming.
The white, rolled-up towel that was flung on the mat to signal the end of a period.

ERIK PETERSEN/CHRONICLE Belgrade wrestlers, including senior Ryan Guenther (green shorts, jumping) and fans celebrate a pin to give the Panthers enough team points to defeat Bozeman Saturday at Shroyer Gym on the Montana State University campus. The pale blue veil surrounding the still-dilated pupils of concussed Panther Ryan Guenther as he talked about Belgrade's 38-37 dual victory over Bozeman - the first victory over its upper-division rivals since the Panther bunch led by Jake Kallestad defeated Tyrel Todd at Bozeman High in 2004.The dark blue Michigan sweatshirt that Todd, back home home for the holidays, wore as he cheered on his alma mater from just behind the coaches' bench. As vibrant as all the shades were, nothing shone brighter than the green that was pinned on the red. It's not what you think. It's not a wrestling or belated Christmas reference. It was a thin green ribbon pinned on the crimson-clad chests of every Bozeman Hawk.It was a tribute to a family member."That's exactly what we consider him," Bozeman coach Nate Laslovich said of Belgrade junior varsity wrestler Wyatt Welch, who recently suffered a neck injury that has so far resulted in partial paralysis. "A family member."

Welch broke his neck last month while warming up for a dual with Anaconda. It happened when his head hit the mat at an awkward angle.Laslovich was there."I live in Belgrade so I went out to watch that dual," Laslovich said. "I got there right after they had taken him away. It just breaks your heart. Anything we could do to help them, we were going to do."The Hawks put out a table to raise money for Welch that was manned by Bozeman parents. Their sons, not far away, also had Welch on their minds."It just bites so much," Hawk wrestler Crew Johnston said. "My heart goes out to him, his family and his teammates. I'm all out for that guy."The effort didn't go unnoticed."It's really cool," Guenther said (emphasizing the really) about seeing Bozeman in green. "They're a class act. Every one of them."Welch's presence, Belgrade head coach Justin Taylor said, was also felt in Shroyer on Saturday."I told our guys afterwards that a little bit of Wyatt was in this gym," Taylor said. "He was out there today."On a lighter note, Guenther said during his match, he wasn't able to channel his teammate, who will be moved to Denver on Monday to start rehab as his condition has been steadily improving. In fact, Guenther couldn't wrap his mind around much as he tried, and eventually succeeded, finishing off Taylor Anderson at 130 pounds. Guenther ended up with a 13-6 decision. After securing a 6-1 lead in the first period, the Belgrade senior captain went to the ground holding his head moments following an Anderson escape to make it 6-2 in the second."We both took a shot, and my head was lower and hit his knee," said Guenther, who admitted he likely suffered a concussion as a result of the head bonking. "I was seeing stars after that. I just had to keep working what he was giving me."But following Guenther's win, it was Bozeman that momentarily worked it the best. Nine matches in, the Hawks held their biggest lead of the dual at 27-17 after Marshall Carpenter pinned Tucker Taylor at 145.That Belgrade let their star Taylor wrestle a returning Class AA champion was valiant in Laslovich's mind."I love that they don't jockey anybody around," Laslovich said. "Tucker Taylor wrestling Marshall Carpenter at 145. That was a big match that everyone was excited about."But it wasn't until three matches later that the crowd got its money's worth. Johnston, wrestling up a weight at 171, gave Belgrade's Justin Ricker all he could handle. The match was within a point all the way until the final five5 seconds when Ricker got a reversal to make it 12-9 and secure his win."Everyone who wrestles Crew gets tired," Laslovich said. "Give credit to Justin Ricker. He did a great job of keeping his head in there. He showed a lot of heart and he finished the match.""It's not fun to lose," Johnston said. "But you learn so much each match. I came out a little timid, but I picked it up and we went head to head over and over again. It was pretty exciting."Both crowds agreed. Panther and Hawk fans alike rose to their feet following the match."That right there said a lot about Bozeman versus Belgrade wrestling," Laslovich said. "That rivalry hasn't been as big recently, but it's starting to get huge."Ricker's win pulled Belgrade within one. Two pins from Levi Cade and Austin Reyher later, the Panthers had this chapter of the developing feud - which will re-air on Jan. 15 in Bozeman and then on Jan. 29 in Belgrade - all sewn up.Both coaches left feeling great about their teams."I think that's about as good as we're going to wrestle," Laslovich said. "But the beautiful thing is that our guys are still improving. This is as hard a working group as I've ever had and as good a high school group as I've ever seen.""The sky's the limit for our guys," Justin Taylor said on the other end. "There are people out there who think we're going to fold at some point this season. We ain't gonna fold. Be ready for Belgrade at the state wrestling tournament."Earlier in the day, Bozeman defeated defending Wyoming state champ Powell behind Marshall Carpenter’s 10-2 major decision over three-time state champion Austin Carter at 145. Taylor Anderson at 130 defeated the No. 1-ranked Wyoming wrestler in that weight class.Natty Lambert earned a pin, his first of two on the day. Will Holden can be reached at wholden@dailychronicle.com and 582-2690.Belgrade 38, Bozeman 3798 Kyle Taylor, Bel, won by forfeit. 105 Bryce Weatherston, Boz, won by forfeit. 112 Ethan Bristol, Bel, maj dec.
